Now is the time for Action on Energy!

"At the Michigan Republican Convention on Saturday, Tim once again highlighted the need for a sound energy policy that consists of using America's oil resources and eliminating our dependency on foreign energy sources. Tim's energy plan calls for not only opening up our resources in ANWR and the Outer-Continental Shelf, but also encouraging more investment in wind, solar and nuclear power sources. "

"The crowd responded with cheers as Tim declared that "now is the time for action." The American people are fed up with paying high prices at the pump, while Speaker Pelosi and the Democrat majority in Congress do nothing. If you would like to let Nancy Pelosi know how you feel about this issue, feel free to call her at: 202-224-3121 to tell her "now is the time for action!"

Jobs and the Economy

"As more and more Michigan families are feeling the effects of the failed policy of Jennifer Granholm and Mark Schauer, Congressman Walberg is continuing to work toward reducing the tax burden on individuals and small business. Tim understands that we must encourage business investment in our state by creating a sound tax policy that allows entrepreneurs to thrive, and also work to expand job re-training and educational excellence."

"Last week, Tim toured the Thetford Corporation in Dexter, and talked there with employees and management about ways to strengthen our economy."

Congressman Walberg on Farm Listening Tour

"Over the past week, Congressman Walberg has spent time visiting local farms and speaking with members of the 7th District's vibrant agriculture industry, making stops in Hillsdale, Lenawee, Jackson and Washtenaw counties. These listening sessions have given many local farmers the opportunity to share their concerns and ideas with Tim, and also hear updates on the farm bill and other key agriculture issues.

Campaign Gains Momentum

The Walberg Campaign continued a ground-swell of momentum as Congressman Walberg held three "kick-off" events in the district.

On the day following the August 5 Primary, Battle Creek Mayor Mark Behnke hosted a campaign kick-off event for Calhoun county, where Congressman Walberg received the endorsement of Mayor Behnke, Representative Mike Nofs, Calhoun County Clerk Anne Norlander and County Commissioner Greg Moore. The following day, Team Walberg was in Charlotte for our Eaton County kick-off, where Representative Rick Jones and Charlotte Mayor Deb Shaughnessy endorsed Tim's re-election effort. The day ended in Jackson County – where our Campaign HQ Open House was attended by many grassroots supporters as well as community leaders in Jackson.
